About Us

Mary is from a horsey background and her passion has always been horses from a very young age. Not just riding but every aspect including care and welfare. Having been born into a farming family, Mary has always loved the great outdoors and being around animals, especially horses and her beloved labradors.

Mary met her husband Pete in 2013. With Pete having riding lessons and Mary being his partner, his experience and knowledge has increased.

Following on from a conversation Mary had with her parents one day, it was agreed that the husband and wife duo could rent some farmland from Mary's parents to set up and build a livery yard. So in 2015 Kings Forest Livery was born.

Since then Mary and Pete have worked very hard to build the business. It started with a planning application to the Council to change the allocated farmland from agricultural to equestrian use. After
permission was granted, the long task of fencing and building began.

Pete has since built an American Barn style stable block housing eleven stables, a tack room, a toilet, a hay barn and an arena with all weather surface and mirrors for the liveries to enjoy.

With Kings Forest Livery right next to the beautiful Kings Forest, clients can enjoy nearly 6,000 acres of off road hacking. It has since become full to capacity with an ongoing waiting list of clients.

The yard also has a grass jumping paddock, a grass dressage area and a lunge pen with a rubber surface.

Mary and Pete take pride in running a friendly and supportive yard where their clients can come and enjoy the peace and tranquility while enjoying their horses.

With experienced staff working on the yard, Mary and Pete now living onsite, and the added extra security of CCTV, the horses are very well cared for around the clock.
